Hey,
My name is Joey, a hybrid Creative Director, Producer, and Editor living in Los Angeles.
I grew up at the intersection of art and technology, always fascinated by how they feed off each other. Enter, camera-left a love for film — and you have a Boston-native cocktail of new media that pairs with the future of entertainment.
Drawn to how one image talks to another, editing became my focus when I jumped into the world of film. After cutting my teeth in the unique world of title sequences and VFX at Prologue Films, I saw an opportunity in the ever-expanding world of gaming.
Joining Activision, my time working on Call of Duty evolved from Editor to Creative Director and Producer, as I helped build a team of artists into a driving force in media for the brand. My focus: pushing the boundaries of trailer production and game capture to tell deeper, more engaging stories — all while successfully marketing a product and supporting a campaign.
With a growing desire to engage with new IPs and creative challenges, I co-founded a new company, Red Barrel Creative - a collective of artists and producers centered around video production, design, and branding for video game marketing.
My journey then took me to Dark Burn Creative, where I joined the team as a Creative Director to help lead the Epic Games account and build campaigns for the massive gaming universe that is Fortnite.
From the creative to the technical, I thrive in the problem-solving mindset of the gaming industry. Whether at work or at home, I just want to excite new players, especially those who never thought they’d pick up a controller — to dive in.
